Why do I write?  Well, for me there’s no one reason.  I write when I experience something sad or happy.  I write when I’m angry or depressed.  For me, writing is just one of the best forms of therapy ever known to man.  And I should know because I’ve tried many types.  I don’t know.  There’s just something about it that soothes my soul.  I feel a sense of peace and well-being when I write.  It’s so amazing.

Sometimes I just write to clarify a situation in my head.  When I need to make an important decision and don’t know which route to take, writing helps me to clarify things in my head. Or if I plan to accomplish something in the future, writing helps me to sort out the details.  It helps me to see the big picture.

And of course.  One other thing that writing helps me to do is remember.  I can’t stand it when I read or hear something inspirational or thought provoking and can’t remember it.  Writing helps me to keep track of all of the beautiful thoughts that come out of people’s heads.  When I need some inspiration all I have to do is search for their words recorded in my journal.

How do I know that I’m a writer?  Because I can’t go a day without it.  It took a while for me to figure it out.   Once I did though, it was like my eyes were finally opened.  I no longer felt that sense that something was missing in my life.  My life felt totally complete.  If I don’t write I don’t feel complete.
