Wisdom Quotes from the Bible

Today’s wisdom quotes are taken from the Bible, specifically from Proverbs.  Proverbs contains many motivational words of wisdom like how to treat others, how to become successful, and how to make the right choices in our daily lives.  You can learn a lot from God’s Word the Bible.

Here are today’s wisdom quotes from the Bible:

“Happy is the man who finds wisdom and the man who gains understanding; For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, and her gain than fine gold…Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor.  Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.” Proverbs 3:13-14;16-17

“Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; for the Lord will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught.” Proverbs 3:25

“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hands to do so.” Proverbs 3:27

“Get wisdom! Get understanding…Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; love her and she will keep you.  Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom.  And in all your getting, get understanding.  Exalt her and she will promote you; she will bring you honor when you embrace her.” Proverbs 4:5-8

“Let your eyes look straight ahead, and your eyelids look right before you.  Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established.” Proverbs 4:25, 26

“Go to the ant you sluggard!  Consider her ways and be wise, which having no captain, overseer or ruler, provides her supplies in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest…A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep.  So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, and your need like an armed man.” Proverbs 6:6-11

“My son, keep your father’s command, and do not forsake the law of your mother.  Bind them continually upon your heart; tie them around your neck.  When you roam they will lead you; when you sleep they will keep you; and when you awake they will speak with you.  For the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light.” Proverbs 6:20-23

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the holy one is understanding.  For by me your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you.” Proverbs 9:10

“He who has a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.  He who gathers in summer is a wise son; he who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.” Proverbs 10:4,5

“He who walks with integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will become known.” Proverbs 9:9

“Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins.” Proverbs 10:12

“In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is wise.” Proverbs 10:19

“The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.” Proverbs 10:22

“When pride comes then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom.” Proverbs 11:2
